What's New?
-
We're having a Santa Event on Sunday December 14, 2008 from 2-4pm. Santa
will start out at the Lakeline Pool at 2:00 pm and will make his way through
the neighborhood and end at Kay Redden Park around 2:45pm. Click
here
for more details. Here's the
route they will take.
- We attempted to have our annual membership meeting on December 1, 2008.
However, this was the first year that the developer (LIC) did not have a
super majority vote and therefore we were unable to meet the 2/5 membership
quorum requirements. As per our By-Laws, we are scheduling a second
meeting for January 15, 2009 to elect members to our open board positions.
If you would like to run, please notify Kathy Taylor as soon as possible.
Post cards for this meeting's notice will be going out shortly.
- Our Neighborhood Watch Committee is moving right along, but we need
volunteers for block captain. It's really easy, just get to know your
neighbors, collect contact information from them (in case of emergency) and
be willing to either host or participate in our annual neighborhood meeting
(usually coincides with National Night Out). Please contact
Karen
Magdelain if you can help out.
- The Westside HOA Board of Directors would like to welcome Darrell
Park to the board. Thanks for stepping up, Darrell! Our next
HOA Board meeting will be held on September 22, 2008 in the Cedar Park
Police Department Community Room at 6:30 PM.
- Check out the pictures from our
4th of July
Parade. Kudos to the Social Committee!

- Interesting in making some friends with kids in our neighborhood?
Try Buttercup Creek Moms Meetup
and check for upcoming events.
- Westside Elementary School
will be opening this fall. Check back later this summer for more
details!
- We've had a confirmed case of
Cryptosporidium in our neighborhood. As a pre-cautionary
measure, we've closed our pools to treat them against this contagious
illness and we're following the CDC
Guidelines for treatment. Cryptosporidium can be a very serious
illness that can be spread, among many other ways, through pool water.
It's also resistant to standard chlorination and filtration in pools.
Symptoms include stomach cramps/pains, dehydration, fever, diarrhea,
vomiting, nausea and weight loss. If you or a family experience any of these
symptoms, please contact your physician immediately. If you or a
family member have been diagnosed with this illness and have been swimming
in the neighborhood pools (Lakeline Pool or Kay Redden Pool), please notify
Kathy Taylor immediately.
- Pools are now open! Click
here for the hours of operation and other
pool info. If you are new to the neighborhood and do not yet have a
pool tag, you will need to complete a pool tag order form and submit it to
Kathy Tayler at Goodwin Management.
- Check out the latest
crime statistics for our neighborhood.
Want to know what you can do to help? Please
contact our Neighborhood
Watch Committee and join in the fight to make our neighborhood a safer
place to live.
- The Social Committee would like your input. Click
here to find out what you can do.
- The Modifications standards have been updated! Click
here for more details. Need to make improvements? Our MC application has changed. Please check
here for specific
instructions on what to do.
Remember, ALL IMPROVEMENTS (including sheds, driveway extensions,
patios and playscapes) MUST BE REVIEWED BY THE MODIFICATIONS COMMITTEE BEFORE ANY WORK CAN COMMENCE. Failure to
comply can result in fines and added expenses, so please do submit your
requests prior to construction. The MC usually turns requests around
promptly.
- The Westside Preserve trail map is now online. Click
here to to see it.
- The HOA needs your help! We are looking for volunteers for various committees. If you'd like to help, please
contact Torsten Weirich (torsten@weirich.com) as soon as possible.
- Slow Down in our Neighborhood! That was the sentiment
expressed by one of our neighbors. We have lots of kids (and adults)
running, cycling, skating and walking around our neighborhood. Let's
all make sure they are safe by driving at or below the posted speed of 30
MPH.
